While the other symbiotes, known as the Symbiote Imperium or the Hive, would form their own empire and continue being parasitic, giving the species as a whole a bad reputation throughout the universe. The symbiotes that chose to rebel and attain true symbiotic bonds with their hosts would rebrand themselves as the Klyntar (their word for cage) and serve as protectors of the cosmos. Originally created to serve as parasitic and corruptive agents of Knull, Thor would sever their bond to their master and humanity would introduce them to positive concepts like love and honor, allowing them to rebel against Knull and develop on their own.
